Adjusted results for the third quarter of 2019 exclude charges and credits totaling

Third quarter 2019 adjusted EBITDA was
$191 million compared to$172 million in the prior year period. This included adjusted depreciation and amortization(6) of$51 million and$48 million in the third quarters of 2019 and 2018, respectively. -
Third quarter 2019 adjusted operating income was
$137 million compared to adjusted operating income of$120 million in the third quarter of 2018. The primary driver of this improved performance was stronger operating results in both the Retail and BSD divisions as well as the benefits from BAP-related cost efficiency efforts. -
Third quarter 2019 adjusted net income from continuing operations was
$84 million , or$0.15 per diluted share, compared to an adjusted net income from continuing operations of$71 million , or$0.13 per diluted share, in the third quarter of 2018. Reduced interest expense and fewer outstanding shares relative to the prior period contributed to this performance.
